The loading dock is a place where the food is taken off the truck, in this case, when it is being loaded onto trucks. The loading docks are usually located on the side of the building, but they can also be located at the front of the building or at the rear of the building. They are the location where all trucks start and stop and all trucks are loaded and unloaded, or sometimes they are only used by freight companies to unload trucks.
When you think of food, you probably think of things like: mac, cheese, cream, or even cheese, but there’s more to it than that. The best way to know that food should be rejected at the loading dock is to look at a sign that says: “Food not accepted and will be tossed,” or “Food not accepted and will be thrown out”.
Food items are checked and stored by the food safety and the food facility when receiving. When a food item from the facility is received, the food is placed in cold storage and prepared for distribution and the food safety manager has the responsibility of receiving the food product for inspection. If the food is rejected, the food facility must know why and how to contact the owner of the food item to resolve the situation.
A sign at a loading dock at the airport that says “food not accepted” is a clear violation of the terms and conditions of the US federal law, the Food and Drug Administration’s regulations for food handling facilities.
Many times when we are at the loading dock, we are given a sign to be removed from the building. However, we cannot just let the sign ride off the truck. In fact, we should remove the sign that has been used to load our food. This is not only to ensure that the food is safe, but also to allow the loading dock to be used for other tasks.
What do you do when your food arrives? You throw it in the trash or throw it away. It’s time to get a sign to help you tell the food truck at the loading dock to not let it in. When SHAMSH e-commerce company asked me to design and build this sign, I realized that I hadn’t thought much about food trucks in the past and how they would look.
You may have heard of the “food-splatter-in-your-food-in-the-car” story. The story goes, that a person who works in a restaurant got his food splattered on his car while driving home from work. The story goes that he was eating at a fast food restaurant and the food splattered on the restaurant’s food at the loading dock.
What if we could simply sign a message saying that food should not be received when loading into the truck? There are a lot of signs that can be used on trucks. For example, the sign that says “food not allowed,” “truck not allowed to accept food,” “food not allowed for loading,” etc. The problem with these signs is they just add to the stress of loading and unloading.
