This is a question that people ask me on a regular basis. I have tried to answer it by asking myself, “What do I need to know to know what a gift card is?” and “What do I need to know to know what a prepaid card is?”. But it’s always confusing to me how something that so clearly seems to be the same thing can be so different. For example, I was given a gift card for a restaurant.
Not so much the restaurant itself, but the gift card itself. When I went to the restaurant to use the gift card, the card was swiped. When I went to use the prepaid card, I had to go to a store to use the card. That’s not much of a difference at all, so I’m not sure if you can really be confused by the difference.
The only thing that would be clear to anyone who’s been in the game for long enough is that the cards have been purchased from one store. But I would guess that a lot of people bought the cards from other stores. There are plenty of people who bought the cards from other stores, so perhaps I am not a bad person.
The prepaid card is just a gift card. And since you can buy Gift Cards in almost any store within the game, most people I know just have gift cards.
The reason why you can buy two cards and then buy the one that you need is that if you want a gift card to go with your card, you have to buy it first.
I don’t know much about prepaid cards. As of this writing, I’ve never actually bought one. That said, I can tell you that I use them all the time now, and I always have money on me. I don’t buy them in stores though, I just use them at my local ATM to make my purchases. I’ve never actually gotten a prepaid card to work though, but I know that the people who do still work with them sometimes.
What I like to do is buy a prepaid card, fill it with money, and then go to a gas station or convenience store and pay cash. I know it’s a lot cheaper, plus I don’t have to worry about things like fees and whatnot. The trouble is I don’t know which card I want. So I look it up, and then buy it from the store.
Prepaid cards have never been a popular choice for travelers. They are often sold as the preferred way to pay with and are also often free with your card. They are usually better choices for things like ATM, credit cards, and travel. But prepaid cards are much easier to use, and the fees are often lower. Plus being prepaid is cheaper than using a bank card.
In fact, prepaid cards are often more expensive than gift cards. For example, a prepaid card with a $5 minimum fee can be as expensive as a gift card with a $10 minimum fee. The fees vary by store. Some are free, some are not. But the fees are lower, so prepaid cards are usually cheaper than gift cards.
Prepaid cards are also easier to use, as they have one less check box to fill out. And more importantly, prepaid cards are usually cheaper than gift cards.
