Scientists from Switzerland have completed a paper describing how a process of using a gene to create a protein in the endosperm in the seed that is later used for food storage in the embryo. The paper was the first to describe the existence of this protein. The protein was identified in the protein called alpha-amylase which was identified in the endosperm. This protein is located in the endosperm and not the embryo.
