Hunger and food deprivation are some of the most frustrating experiences in life. If we cannot feel hunger, we cannot eat and many of the foods we eat are filled with calories. Food deprivation is an extremely common experience people go through, yet we rarely talk about it. It can cause great anxiety and lead to weight gain and even heart disease. We also have to worry about how to avoid food deprivation during the holiday season, when we are often the least physically and mentally alert.
What I mean is that if you’ve been on a diet for many years, you know that hunger comes with the territory. A lack of nourishment can be a difficult thing to handle as you work your way through the day. As much as we try we find ourselves in a constant state of being hungry, but what many people don’t realize is that hunger can be a form of self-medication.

However, the fact that we are unable to access food can lead to an array of harmful effects. One of these is malnutrition. In order to be able to sustain our weight, we need to consume enough calories in order to ensure that we are able to gain the energy that we need to maintain our weight.
