This is a simple case, so you better have good knowledge of food safety. One of the things you should do to avoid this problem is to check if your hand is clean before you put it on the salad.

You’re a food handler, and you’re working with raw meat. It is not uncommon for food handlers to encounter food poisoning because of poor hygiene standards (e.g., inadequate handwashing facilities) and contaminated food. But how do you know whether the food you are preparing is safe to eat? You don’t. However, it is important to be mindful of how you prepare food before you eat it.

A food handler is not just a person who is responsible for the preparation of a meal, it is a person who can help their customers to achieve a better quality in their food.

You should never cut yourself while handling food. This includes cutting yourself on a salad. The cut may look fine, but it could be dangerous. If you cut yourself with a knife, you’re risking infection and the chance that you will have a serious cut infection. By cutting yourself at an angle, you take a risk of the injury.
